PIANO-EXPLOSION - 1 - MOTION-BLUR

This render seems to show that 'Explode' modifiers (which are used on the top panel of the piano) CAN be affected by the Motion-Blur render.
This had me puzzled for a while, as I'd had problems motion-blurring the GLASS_HOOPS section.
In actual fact, the EXPLODE modifier here is only blurred due to the camera movements - so it is the motion of the camera that is allowing for the 'inbetween' frame stages, and not the modifier. (I think there might be a way to cause a motion-blur using Blender's COMPOSITING functionality)

ANOTHER VIEW

This view shows a bit more of the room in which the scene is taking place.
The windows (which considerable increase the render time!) use Ray-Taced transparency AND reflections,
refracting an old landscape scene I made using ANIM8OR - another free-ware (but i don't think open-source) 3D animation package.
Also worth noting is the framed painting on the wall. The actual picture is a download of a TERRAGEN render that was shown to me by a friend.
I'm not sure who created this near-master-piece - but will find out, and post a link. Thank you!

p.s. If you are not happy with me using your render, please let me know, and I'll remove it.

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

This render shows the scene on frame 1, before the piano destruction.
The plant in the corner is made up of two instances of Blender's 'Hair' particle modifier - one for each branch of the Yuka's trunk.
To get this effect, use the STRAND setting in the material buttons - where you can set the START and END widths of each strand of hair/blade of grass/leaf etc.

ROOM VIEW

This view across the end of the room shows off the lamp and table, and some of the window details - stylish, huh?!?
Though it's not quite visible here, the window latches even have little screws to attach them to the wood!
It is worth noting that I didn't change the Yuka plant's particle or strand settings for this render.
It is simple because the camera is closer to the object that the leaves appear so very different in shape.
I actually really like the leaf-shape in this render, but its nothing like the other views! check it out...

SIDE-ON

A bit boring, I know! As I'm still working on this scene, I'll have plently of cool new renders to choose from to replace this -
including other piano internal parts, such as the Hammers (and hopefully some cool snapping strings too!)
