OGRE PROFILE - CLAY 1

This is the basic model, rendered with an ORTHOGRAPHIC camera - side-view. I like to think it looks like a clay sculpture.

CARTOON OGRE!

This render uses Blender's TOON shaders - both DIFFUSE and SPECULAR shader models set to TOON. I really LOVE the toon effect!

ANOTHER TOON VIEW

The TOON shaders use only 3 stages of light refraction, and have settings to affect the softness, or severity of these transitions.
The effect can be highly dependant on the subject material, but I think it suits my Ogre pretty well.

SOME TEXTURED MATERIALS

As I mentionned in the text, I made this model before I was aware of how to apply multiple materials to a single object (which is done in EDIT mode, by selecting the FACES you wish to apply a new material to, and then clicking NEW in the material side (right side) of the LINKS and PIPELINE section, to create a new MATERIAL - then clicking ASSIGN, to assign the new material to these FACES. Then go to the MATERIAL buttons, where your new material is selected, and change it appropriately, or select a preset material from your stash!).
...So, the Ogre is pretty much one single material - a layered, muddy brown, using 'NOR' mapping (NORmal - sometimes called 'bump-mapping'), to create the illusion of a more bumpy surface.
The eyes were created as separate objects - which I did, by trial, error, more error, and pure fluke, manage to assign multiple materials! (white, pupil, iris.)

OGRE - CHIROSCURO

This one uses a fave' of mine - HALO lighting (see OGRE_TEXT, next-door to left)
