These images show a design for the 'Adder-Pad Cubicle', a touch-screen based installation,
running the 'Adder-Pad'
- a software visual-audio synthesis instrument, built using Cycling-74 Max/MSP
for my Sound & Music Production Degree
The Adder-Pad uses Additive Synthesis on a fairly large scale, with over 700 oscillators
organised in a 2D Matrix over 3 planes -
representing images of Red, Green & Blue.
As the screen is 'drawn on', the brightness of each pixel corresponds to the amplitudes of each oscillator.
An elastic motion algorithm, with energy dissipation convolution animates
the image, acting like a visual echo/reverb effect.
The audio & visual information remain closely linked.
